Professional Biography

Dr. Harrison Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Atlanta , Georgia . At the Center for Psychological Wellbeing, he provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families who struggle with doing their best. His professional work as a counselor has focused on helping adults and adolescents experiencing adjustment issues, anxiety/stress, depression/disappointment, and problems with relating to others. In addition, Dr. Davis works effectively with people seeking help for alcohol & drug abuse, relationship difficulties, and career development concerns.
Whether you desire counseling, life coaching, or a psychological evaluation, Dr. Davis brings with him experience, knowledge, and compassion while assisting you with achieving your goal. With a Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of Arkansas, Dr. Davis is prepared to offer you specialized skills in facilitating growth and change. While pursuing his Ph.D. at Arkansas , Dr. Davis provided counseling and crisis intervention services for the campus community. Prior to that time, he worked as a staff counselor at the University of West Georgia. Other clinical experiences include substance abuse and family counseling at community mental health centers.

Dr. Davis grew up in Southwest Atlanta and earned three degrees from various universities throughout the state of Georgia : Education Specialist degree in Counseling, University of West Georgia , 2000; Master of Science degree in Community Counseling, Columbus State University , 1998; Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology , Georgia State University, 1992. When he is not providing counseling services through the Center for Psychological Wellbeing, Dr. Davis teaches individuals who wish to become part of the next generation of psychotherapists. As an Associate Professor of Counseling at North Georgia College & State University , he educates, trains, and supervises students in the Community Counseling Master’s Program. He has conducted research on factors contributing to anxiety and depression in Black & White college students, clinical supervision of counselors-in-training, and the impact of stress among Black Americans.
